Consulting

I started my career as an editorial consultant in 2002 in Ravenna, Italy, at Fernandel. I was in charge of publicity and project management and I then created and launched the list of translated fiction. I still consult for them and I am currently in charge of social media and publicity.

From 2008 to 2013 I worked for Gallucci Editore in Rome, Italy, first as a project editor and then as foreign rights director, dealing with both acquisitions and sales. As a project editor I coordinated a dictionary of film for children and young adults, Dizionario del cinema Junior, by Luisa e Morando Morandini, 209 pages, December 2009.

From July 2013 to March 2020 I have been international rights director at Elwin Street Productions and Modern books, a packager and publisher of illustrated non-fiction based in London, UK. I contributed to the development of projects and to finding a publisher for them in most countries in the world.

Projects I contributed to create and I am most proud of include:
– We are Feminist, a book on the  history of Women’s Rights, published in the UK, Australia and New Zealand by Modern Books, in the USA by Tiller Press and in Germany by Prestel/Random House, with the incredible art by Rebecca Strickson.
– A book created from Instagram account Boys with Plants, published in the USA by Chronicle Books.

In 2020 I collaborated with Nabu Literary and Film Agency as a sub-agent for fiction on the world English market and with Books Everywhere, as a publishing consultant in charge of the German, Scandinavian, Italian and English Language markets for illustrated non fiction and children’s books.

From 2021 to 2022 I have been Senior Foreign Rights Manager at PanMacmillan for all imprints including Picador, Tor and Bluebird, in charge of the German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Scandinavian Language markets for adult fiction and non fiction.

From 2022 to date I am Senior Foreign Rights Manager at Andersen Press, an independent Children’s Books publisher participated by Penguin. I am in charge of translation rights for picture books and fiction from 3 to 16 years old readers for Italy, France, Eastern Europe, Turkey, Japan, Korea, the Middle East and Central Asia and proudly represent, among many others celebrated authors and illustrators, world famous Elmer the Patchwork Elephant.

I am a guest lecturer in Translation, Marketing for the Publishing Industry and International Rights Management and I have been teaching at the Master in Publishing organised by Deriveapprodi, Bologna, the Master in Publishing organised by literary agency Il Segnalibro, Rome and at the Universities of Urbino (2013), Bari (2018) and at Centro Studi Umberto Eco in Bologna (2019).
